The Problem- Quickly accessing websites

Are you having a hard time remembering the address to your favorite website? Do you wish there was an easy way to access a webpage without having to use bookmarks or favorites? Well you are not alone! There is an easy way that you can get access to that pesky webpage.

I know you are now asking what's the point? Well let me tell you. WebPage addresses, besides being difficult to remember, are case-sensitive. This means you need to type in the identical address every time! In the hectic classroom setting, you might not have enough time to type in the website address every period to record attendance, let alone accomplish other daily tasks.

The quick and easy solution is to follow these 9 steps and you will be easily accessing those important webpages.

Important Terms
Before we begin, lets go over some common terms that you will see in this guide. These terms will be italicized throughout the guide for quick identification.

Internet Explorer- a graphic web browser developed by Microsoft included in Microsoft
Windows operating system

Web address- A unique identifier for a resource of information that is accessed using a graphic web browser

Toolbar- A panel on which icons, symbols, menus, or buttons can be placed

Scroll- An act of moving up or down a list

Desktop- The computer screen you see when an operating system opens

Desktop Icon- A image found on your computer screen to quickly access programs

Address Bar- A toolbar in a graphic web browser where a web-address is typed

H: Drive- A personal drive to save information and can be accessed on any Vernon computer


The Solution:
Creating a Desktop Icon for WebPages &
Saving them to a personal H: Drive

Step 1- Create a Folder on your Desktop

a) Right click anywhere on the Desktop screen
b)
Scroll down to New--> Folder





c) Rename Folder -
Choose something easy to remember and identify
I picked “Websites”
